Using Flash Cards With Your Child
Math Number Words

Review the words with your child. Cut out the flash cards.

Activity 1. Place a set of pennies on the table and three number word cards. Ask your child to count the pennies and choose the card that shows the number word.

Activity 2. Give your child a word card and ask that he/she makes a set that shows that many pennies. If they can not read the card, tell them the number word and then have them build the set. You may also use activity 1 to reinforce the word.

Activity 3. Ask your child to arrange the cards in order from the lowest to the highest value and read them to you.

Activity 4. Show or flash the cards for your child. This is only a good review activity. If your child misses a word, use one of the above activities to help your child learn the word.
