Chapter 24: Mary,Mother of the Church, Cares for Us p135-138 Test on Thursday, June 3rd. You're to know the answer to this question: Who is the Mother of the Church? Chapter 25: The Church Celebrates God's Love p.139-142 Unit 5 Test on Tuesday, June 8th. The children may take their Religion books home at the end of the year.

Chapter 10 - Geometry, Fractions, and Probability

In this chapter, children will explore geometric shapes, fractions, and probability. Children will learn to differentiate between various shapes and faces, the importance of equal parts, and the skill of making predictions.

Chapter 10 Test will be on Friday, June 4, 2010.

SKIP COUNTING: All year the students will be learning to skip count or reviewing what they've learned. Skip counting helps when doing addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division fast facts. Students will learn to think and visualize in groups. They will learn to use and recognize valuable number patters. We will be skip counting by s: 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42,49, 56, 63, 70, 77, 84.

First In Math: Our Goal, by June 9, 2010, is to have everyone in 2B earn GOLD in Addition and Subtraction. As of May 21, 2010 we have 12 GOLD in Addition (7 to go!) and 7 GOLD in Subtraction ( 12 to go!). Many children are quite close to GOLD. Let's all at least try to earn GOLD in addition by June 9th.

Unit 6: Adjectives / Adverbs Adjectives describe nouns. Adverbs tell more about a verb in the sentence. There are only a few days left in the school year. The word few is an adjective giving more information about the noun days. The children will be quickly running out of school on June 9th. The word quickly is an adverb that tells how the action (running) is done.

Field Day, for 2B, is Tuesday, June 8, 2010 @ 9:35. Wear your gym uniform to school on that day.

All the library books have been returned in 2B. Good Job!! SAVE BOX TOPS, for thre Library, over the summer break.

Please have your child bring a bucket, sponge, and a rag to school the week of June 7-9th. I plan to teach them some cleaning skills!!
