It is hard to believe that this is our final newsletter for the school year! Thank you for all of your help and cooperation throughout the school year. Your children were a blessing to have and we enjoyed our time with them. But, time rolls on and you are off to a new adventure!

The children have brought home some items in their backpacks.

* Number books

* Issues of Lets Find Out Magazine that we were not able to read in class.

* Letter People take home books that we did not read in class.

* Memory book. The children are very excited about their Memory Books. Inside, you will find items from our classroom that they have used, pictures, and drawings from each of their classmates. There are some empty pages that are for you to fill. Some suggestions for these pages are; name badge, luggage tag, ticket and fun money from Letter People Land, and any special papers from the year. They can also use the pages to practice kid writing.

o We have also included a large selection of pages from our Reading workbook. This is an addition to our current Kindergarten reading program in order to help the children "bridge" to the First grade program. We were unable to get to most of the pages, using only the ones that we had time for. Although not required, you and your child could work on some of these over the summer. It has some small books to make and pages to reinforce some sight words learned this year.

* 2005-2006 Year Book if your child ordered one.

Your child's progress report, Letter Person Journal and any other items are to be picked up at the school Lobby on the following dates:

June 11 and June 11 from 9:00 am until 12:00 noon and the evening of June 12 from 7:00--8:30.

If anyone is interested, our hermit crabs need a home for the summer. They come with their own house and food. They do not make any noise, beg or shed. If you are able and willing to take care of them for the next few months, please let us know. We can be reached at school or at alyden@sjsmch.org.

A very special Thank you to everyone who helped make the "Trip" to Letter People Land a special one. I enjoyed seeing the children's faces. With all of the electronic devices at the disposal of our children (mine included!) It is nice to see the children having fun just using their imagination!

We hope you have a safe and restful summer! Enjoy the company of your family and friends and the slow pace that the warm weather can bring!
