I am sure that you have heard about the assembly that we had at school last Thursday. We had a visit from the Sky Dome Planetarium. Here is a link to their website for more information about the program. www.mobileedproductions.com/sky-dome-portable-planetarium-school-assemblies ¿

The students were very interested and they learned about

Greek constellations, The Milky Way galaxy, The Sun and all the planets, and The Moon

Please put any correspondence to be brought to school in your child's folder. The children are being taught to check their folder EVERY day when they arrive at school.

Math Homework:

We have started our new Macmillan McGraw-Hill Math Connects Math Program and I am sure you have been seeing the papers start to come home in your child's folder. Along with the series, we have received a workbook for each child that is for homework practice. At this point in the year, I will be sending this homework home every other lesson (most likely, every other school day) as individual pages. Please work on the page with your child and send it back to school the following day. As we get used to this routine, I may start to send home the entire book, every night, with the assigned page marked. This will require you to send the book back to school, every day. It is great practice both in Math concepts, and in the routine of homework. This is a new program, so please bear with me until we get our routines down. Thanks so much.

THE FOLLOWING ARE SOME THINGS THAT YOU CAN REVIEW WITH YOUR CHILD AT HOME:

¿ Home address and phone number

¿ Birthday

¿ Shoe tying

¿ Identification of capital and lower case letters

¿ Identification of numbers from 1 to 20, and counting to 20.

Recite the Our Father

We are learning the Our Father and will start learning the Hail Mary in October.

Ask your child: To recite the coin poem. What book are we talking about that has stories in it about Jesus?
