Religion:	We will continue to read and talk about chapter 1 in our text. I hope to have students take the first quiz on Thursday, September 9th. I will read over this first quiz with everyone. We will also continue to talk about Christ being in all of us.
Math:	We will continue with some review this week and then we will begin talking about place value. We will also try our second five minute frenzy. Students did very well on the first one last week! First In Math: I sent home a sheet with student usernames and passwords.
S. Studies & Science,	Social Studies: We will begin talking about directions and the compass rose this week. Science-Students will be doing some introduction activities this week.
Phonics	We will be working with words that have short vowels this week.
Grammar	We will begin talking about different types of sentences, review what sentences need and continue writing in our journals. We will be learning what personal narratives are, and students will be writing one of their own.
Reading	We will reread 'Ann's First Day,' this week and review the vocabulary and spelling words. Students will have their first reading selection test and spelling test this Friday.
Spelling	We will continue to work with the spelling words this week. Students will have spelling homework to help prepare for the test on Friday. Don't forget SpellingCity.com can be used too!
Reminders:	Please try to return all forms and other items to school as soon as possible! Don't forget to send in a check for your student's lunch account.
